This beautiful region comprises seven sub-regions, all centered around the leafy university town of Stellenbosch. Winemaking here is influenced by the cooling sea breezes that sweep in off False Bay, and the crumbly, mineral-rich granite soils. While perhaps most famous for its beloved Pinotage, Stellenbosch also offers a diverse range of varietals, such as its impeccable Bordeaux blends, fragrant Syrah, crisp Chenin Blanc and outstanding Chardonnay.
